Anita May began her childcare journey in 1992, opening a group home center so she could work while spending more time with her own children. Over the next five years, she grew her business into two licensed group homes, which quickly reached capacity with a waiting list of over 300 children.

In March 1996, Anita founded Bay Area Child Development Centers, Inc. (BACDC) with the vision of providing a loving, respectful, and enriching learning environment for more young children in the Corpus Christi area.

With more than 16 years of experience in early childhood education, Anita is permanently director-qualified to operate day care centers and group homes. Her goal is to continue expanding Bay Area CDC to welcome even more children while growing a strong, experienced team of educators and caregivers.

Anita remains committed to fostering a family-like atmosphere within the center, ensuring that children receive the best possible care and that staff members feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow professionally.
